It’s important to periodically test your electric fence, in multiple spots, to assure your animals will respect the fence. Too little power and the animals will just push their way through to the other side. Simply place the tip of the volt meter on the hot wire and place the attach clip to a ground wire or ground rod. The display will give you an exact digital output. Repeat this process at multiple spots to assure your power output remains consistent with the desired level.

Works like a charm. Fun to see how much power our fence has in different locations. Note to consumer. It does not show anything until you place it on a live fence. There is no “on” switch once you pull the plastic tab from the battery location. Nothing shows until you test the fence.
