Filled to the brim with insulation, this unit will protect the water from freezing in the winter and keep water cool with soaring temperatures in the summer.

Because the bucket is insulated and not heated, it will extend the time that the water takes to freeze but there are a few things that will determine how long the bucket stays frost free.

The most important thing is water movement, the animals have to be using the bucket in order to prevent freezing, if the animals aren’t frequently using the bucket, it will eventually freeze.
The placement of the bucket should be in a part of the barn that is the most insulated from wind and elements. We recommend placing on the interior wall whenever possible.
The temperature of the water will also play a role in how long it will take to freeze, adding warm water can help when barn conditions are not ideal.
